2023 WMBC Volunteer of The Year

Being selected as one of the Volunteers of the Year by the Whatcom County Mountain Bike Coalition, WMBC is a humbling experience. As someone who has been a member of the mountain biking community for many years, I am honored to be recognized by the WMBC for my contributions to the community and the trails.

My passion for mountain biking has driven me to volunteer my time and resources to the WMBC. This organization is dedicated to promoting and developing mountain biking in Whatcom County. Through my involvement with the WMBC, I have worked with like-minded individuals to build and maintain trails and bring new and exciting riding experiences to the community.

One of my proudest accomplishments as a volunteer with the WMBC was my work on the Swirlz trail. This project involved a small, hand-picked team of volunteers who worked tirelessly to clear and build the trail, making it accessible to riders of all skill levels. Seeing the trail come to life and seeing riders enjoy the fruits of our labors was genuinely gratifying. You can read more about Swirlz here.
Through my work with the WMBC, I have had the opportunity to advocate for mountain biking at the local and state levels and to ensure that the sport is recognized and valued for its contributions to the community.

Being selected as one of the Volunteers of the Year by the WMBC is a testament to the dedication and hard work of all volunteers who have contributed to the organization over the years. It is a reminder that every effort, no matter how small, can make a difference and that we can achieve great things by working together.
I feel proud and inspired after being selected as one of the Volunteers of the Year by the WMBC for 2023. I will continue to work towards promoting and developing the sport of mountain biking and look forward to contributing towards the betterment of the mountain biking community.
