Being an enduro rider\/racer means that you have to put a lot of time in on the bike preparing for races. The one component of a bike that can set you up for a great day of riding is your saddle! If that saddle doesn’t provide some shred of comfort, your rides can be cut short because you’re sore.<\/p>\n

This is where ANVL Components new Forge saddle<\/a> comes in. I wanted a lighter and more comfortable saddle to replace what came on the bike and since the Forge was recommended to me by Kyle at Transition Bikes<\/a> I thought I’d give it a try. Transition of course owns\/is ANVL Components<\/a> so they have some insight on the Forge saddle. <\/p>\n

The Forge Saddle was conceived with a simple goal, to create the lightest and slimmest saddle possible that you can still ride all day in comfort.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

First impressions of this saddle were great, I was thinking that I hate to get this seat scuffed up because it looks so nice. The Forge is available in three options all of which have the same upper but each have different rails. The saddle options are carbon, titanium or cro-mo (steel), I chose the titanium for it’s strength to weight ratio. I wanted a lighter saddle but didn’t want to pay for the carbon railed version, I’m not that much of a “weight weenie”. <\/p>\n

After riding this saddle for a couple of weeks I’ve put in 5-6 rides of 20+ miles each and noticed that I didn’t get sore or worn out by mile 15 like my other saddle. It also didn’t take long for the saddle to feel “normal” having switched from a different brand of saddle. According to the ANVL site, “The Forge Saddle was conceived with a simple goal, to create the lightest and slimmest saddle possible that you can still ride all day in comfort.”. I totally agree with that statement!<\/p>\n

As you can see by the photos that the Forge has a little wider back end to it. This actually provides a real comfortable surface for long days on the bike. The guys at ANVL really nailed it with this one!
